Make it part of your day
Practical ways to use Remem
A trip you've been looking forward to. A place you'd like to find
again. A detail that's easier to capture now than remember later.
Here are a few ways to put Remem to work.

A day in Rome
Enjoy the planning. Take it with you.
Imagine you've an evening free before your
trip. Your laptop is open, and the city is beginning to take shape.
At home
Gather the places that interest you
Find a museum, a square and a café on the map in Remem Web.
Save a pin for each, with a note about what drew you there.
Keep the hotel in Places, ready for the journey back.
Before you leave
Give the day a shape
Add the stops to an itinerary and arrange their order. Open
Remem on your phone with the same account and let Sync bring
your work across while both devices are connected.
Out in the city
Follow your curiosity
Choose a walking route and start spoken navigation on your
phone. Discover something along the way? Save a new pin with
a photo and a few words. It joins your collection too.
Follow the planning steps.
Everyday use
Keep each detail where it belongs
Where you parked
Level 4, blue zone, opposite the lift. Five seconds of talking as
you walk away, plus a photo of the bay number. When you return,
the words and picture help you recognise the right spot.
Location readings can be inaccurate, especially indoors. Keep
tickets and follow car-park rules separately.
A place worth returning to
The bench with the view. The shop that had the right size. The
café that was quiet on a Tuesday. Say what made it worth coming
back for, and it sits on the map waiting until you are near it
again.
A weekend walk with friends
Save the meeting point and photograph the right gate. Share
the pin with your friends so they have the location and the
detail that makes it easy to recognise. Keep the car park in
Places for the return journey.
Visits and observations
Walk the site once, leave with the list sorted
Property or site visits
Damp patch, back bedroom, second window. Say it at the window
rather than reconstructing it in the car afterwards. A photo
carries the detail words cannot, and the category keeps what
needs chasing apart from what was merely noted.
Remem is not a certified inspection, asset-management or legal
evidence system. Follow the formal process required for the job.
Work visits and handovers
Say what needs doing while you are still looking at it. When the
follow-up is due, search the words you actually used and the
matching pins bring the detail back. Review the notes on your
computer after Sync and prepare the next visit there.
Do not record confidential, personal or employer-controlled
information unless you are authorised to store it on the phone.
Field observations
A survey, a walk, a hobby that depends on knowing exactly where.
Capture as you go, then use Premium GPX export to take the
located pins into a compatible mapping tool back at your desk.
Remem is not an emergency or safety-tracking system.
Use appropriate specialist tools for those needs.
A repeatable pattern
Capture enough context for your future self
1. Capture
Say or type the useful detail
Say the thing that will tell this pin apart from the three
others within fifty metres of it.
2. Organise
Let it file itself
Remem picks the category from the words you used. Add a photo
when a photo will do the explaining faster than a sentence.
3. Return
Use the map, list or search
Pick the view that matches what you have to go on: the place,
the words you spoke, the category, or roughly when.
Use information elsewhere
Export when the pins become useful elsewhere
Premium includes CSV for a spreadsheet-friendly copy of
unarchived pin data and GPX for unarchived pins with locations.
On the web, use Friendly print for a paper copy of an itinerary.
Compare export formats
Know the limits
- Exports omit archived pins
- Photos and recordings are omitted
- CSV omits the separate Notes field
- Exports cannot be restored into Remem
Choose the right tool
When Remem is not the right system
Do not rely on Remem as an emergency service, live family tracker,
certified inspection record,
regulated case-management platform or guaranteed cloud-recovery
service. Use a purpose-built and properly approved service where
safety, legal duties or guaranteed recovery depend on it.
